Questions about coworking
I'm a recent graduate, considering coworking as an option
We're part of Leeds Metropolitan University, so we welcome new graduates. What makes Old Broadcasting House really special is that is has members with a wealth of experience as well as people starting out. That mix of experience, together with the different specialisms people bring, really helps to foster collaboration and innovation, as well as providing a supportive but challenging environment. If you are starting a new business then we can introduce you to places and people that can help you achieve your goals.
I currently work from home
Working from home is challenging for many reasons, not least due to the distractions that we all tend to have in a space normally associated with rest, relaxation and recreation. Old Broadcasting House aims to be your home from home whilst focusing on providing an environment conducive to productivity with the minimum of distractions that may otherwise derail your working day. Our members tell us that working from home can often be an isolating & lonely experience.
Coworking enables you to have the benefits of working in a large team such as people to share ideas with and mutual support, with all the benefits of working for yourself. New projects emerge from members coming together to pitch for new business or develop new ventures. Our space has great travel links, all the amenities traditionally associated with a modern office space, and several unique collaborative benefits associated with coworking.
I currently work in a public space like a café, bar, or open area. Is Old Broadcasting House a better solution?
Very possibly! As a coworker here you have the advantage of being a member of a community, so forging longer term relationships with other members, and the benefits that that mutual support brings. The physical space is more conducive to working - there's more space that a cafe for instance. But really its about the people that you will be with.
I've just left an organisation to start a new venture - should I join Old Broadcasting House ?
Coworking could really help you - many startups need access to a range of other skills, which other members can provide. Collaboration happens every day here, and who better to collaborate with than coworkers you know and trust.
